What does Boozewatch do?
Boozewatch
will help Australian drinkers get a better deal on their liquor by
providing them with easily accessible information on the latest prices.
At the same time it has the opportunity to save liquor retailers tens of thousands of dollars in offline media advertising and provide them with an excellent means of attracting customers to their stores.
What does the asterisk symbol (*) mean when it is next to a product or price?
The asterisk symbol (*) when placed next to a product(s) or price(s) on this website or emails generated from it indicates that the the product must be be purchased in a multiple quantity purchase in a single transaction to enable the purchaser to obtain that price or % discount. The conditions page (seen by clicking on the store name) for that listing will indicate the purchase quantity required to obtain that price or discount. Exclusions may apply. Check with the retail outlet prior to purchasing for any or all exclusions. An example of multiple buys are when wines are sold by the 6 pack or for 6 or more or by the dozen.
What does the plus symbol (+) mean when it is next to a product or price?
The plus symbol (+) indicates that there is a bonus offer when that product(s) is purchased. Examples are when a promotional item or product is provided or entry to a competition is granted when the purchase is completed. Always check at the relevent outlet for all term and conditions. Exclusions may apply.
What does the percentage symbol (%) mean when it is next to a number eg $0.30%
The percentage symbol (%) indicates that there is a discount applicable to that product or group of products. In the example above it is a thirty percent discount. A discount will typically apply to a products' non advertised price also known as the 'normal shelf price' and will not apply to products already on promotion or on special or already at a reduced price. Always check at the relevent outlet for all term and conditions. Exclusions may apply.

How often are the liquor prices updated?
Prices on the Boozewatch website are updated by the advertisers when they have a special offer available to the market.
Prices
may also be listed by Boozewatch as a result of Boozewatch becoming
aware of pricing which it feels could be of interest to subscribers and
the general public. This may occur when we have received evidence of
liquor specials. Due to the size and complexity of the market
Boozewatch does not guarantee any or the lowest price available to a
consumer in the market. Boozewatch does not check that prices added to
the site by advertisers are accurate and represent the actual sale
price in an outlet. To be sure the price is correct give the
outlet a call, we even list their phone numbers for your convenience
next to their location in the search results.
What services does Boozewatch provide?
Boozewatch reports retail liquor prices available at retail outlets, usually on a weekly cycle across Australia.
By
subscribing to My Boozewatch (free to the general public) you will
receive email alerts informing you where the liquor of your choice is
available at the lowest price in your local area when that detail is
listed on the Boozewatch website. This is conditional upon liquor
outlets publishing the information on www.boozewatch.com.au Advertisers
are charged for this service. Typically Boozewatch will display results
for your postcode and those close surrounding postcodes of the town or
suburb searched.
Why does Boozewatch exist?
The
pricing on selected liquor fluctuates greatly on a frequent basis. This
could be compared to the fluctuating fuel prices. The public will
travel or plan their route to save a dollar or two on a tank of fuel.
Premium
beer for example has been seen to fluctuate up to $20 dollars on the
price of a carton and a carton usually costs less than a tank of fuel!
You do the sums!
Boozewatch is being
set up to cover most Australian postcodes and this will continue to
grow as awareness increases buts the success depends on the amount of
advertisers and consumers spreading the word.
